Reputable for its long-standing foreign languages programs, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages launches its all-English Master’s Program in International Affairs to advance the non-foreign language initiatives to international standards. The International Affairs program has been approved by the Ministry of Education and will commence recruitment in 2015.
The newly-established Master’s Program in International Affairs is dedicated to cultivate outward-looking elites endowed with global perspectives and humanistic approaches in foreign affairs. Course designs highlight the applicability of the practicums in international affairs. The program not only aims to recruit domestic and global talents with a career goal to serve in governmental entities or private enterprises responsible for foreign affairs, but also to facilitate participants" capacity development in foreign language communication, cultural depth, sensitivity to international politics, sensibility in global economics, and professional knowledge in relation to project management. In addition to introductory courses to foreign affairs, the program also offers an opportunity to tailor electives to concentrate on "Global Macro-perspectives", "International Team Management" and "Advanced Professional Capacity Building", in order to equip students not only with theoretical, but also advanced, practical knowledge in foreign affairs, and seamlessly assist the transition between academic studies and professional practices after their graduation.
Since all courses offered by International Affairs program are conducted in English, domestic students can study along with foreign students and leverage their unique case examples in individual countries that foster an integrated global experience. This model can realize "the internationalization of domestic affairs", as well as "the localization of international affairs", through strengthening participants" professional capacity and facilitating graduate students to enter global markets, transnational businesses and expertise-based institutions such as international nonprofit organizations, as well as governmental entities responsible for the mobilization of foreign affairs.
The All-English Master’s Program in International Affairs at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages will start recruiting in 2015. Ten students will be admitted in the first year and receive the Master of Arts degree in International Affairs after graduation.
